Richard Lester, Ph.D. Executive Director
McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship

Richard H. Lester Ph.D. ‘03  – Dr. Lester holds the titles of Clinical Professor and Executive Director of The McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management, Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. His research interests focus on corporate governance and entrepreneurship. His research has appeared in the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice amongst others. Prior to his academic career Richard spent 20+ years in organizations that range from a Fortune 250 conglomerate to a midsized privately held corporation. The majority of his experience has been in the oil and gas industry based out of Houston, Texas. His last corporate position was Vice President General Manager for a privately held firm also based in Houston. Richard teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in entrepreneurship and corporate strategy, entrepreneurship in the Professional MBA program, and seminars in the Mays Business Schools’ Center for Executive Development. He has received the Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for teaching.
